Today has to go down as a disappointing day – with the
tone being set in the very first race at Haydock…
We had 2 tips running in that particular race, Ruler of
All and Bobs World.
I was surprisingly sweet in the chances of both
(considering the nature of the race !) – and both ran absolute
crackers…
Ruler of All looked all over the winner when he ranged up
along side Moujik Bourget after the last. But the Venetia Williams trained
runner, who had not seen the racecourse for nearly 2 years, just wouldn’t be
beaten – and held off Ruler of All by half a length…
To add insult to injury, Bobs World, whom we had backed
EW, was busy fishing like a train – but could only make it into fourth
place…
Talk about a double whammy L

And in truth, things didn’t get any better from
there…
Chac Du Cadran wasn’t given his head in the long distance
chase and he ran no sort of race whatsoever.
It was a baffling move on behalf of his jockey – and
resulted in a very poor performance from the horse…
In the big race of the day, The Giant Bolster was never
sighted with a chance behind the highly impressive winner, Cue Card…
The latter made pretty much all – and never really looked
like getting overhauled.
To my eyes, he now looks the one to beat in the big one
at Cheltenham…
In the finale on the card, we had 3 goes – but non of
them ever looked like over-hauling Sydney Paget, who like Cue Card, pretty much
made all…
Relax pestered him for a fair bit of the race – but
Sydney was always going better; whilst Mac Aeda took at slithering fall at half
way. It was too early to be dogmatic about where he would have finished – but he
would have had to go some to beat the winner.
Saint Are probably ran best of the tips, plugging on
gamely for fourth.
I will keep an eye on him…
The main tip of the day, was Cute Court at
Huntington.
He travelled very sweetly through the race and looked
sure to be involved when closing down the back straight.
However, no sooner had he made his move than he was
beaten
It appeared that he just didn’t get the trip in the soft
ground…
So all in all, a very poor day for the tips…
The mentions did a bit better, but only
slightly…
Alasi was the sole winner for them – though they did have the second and third in the fixed brush race, which would have been galling if I’d actually tipped them (which was a distinct possibility, earlier in the week).

Even Carraig Mor managed to get beaten – at odds of 1/8
!
However he made a shocking blunder at the third last, so
I wouldn’t judge him too harshly.
Maybe we’ll get a price on him the next time he
runs…
I was hoping to issue a tip for tomorrows Troytown chase,
this afternoon – but only 4 bookmakers have priced up the race, so I
can’t…
Therefore I will issue any tips tomorrow morning – at the
normal time – assuming I find anything worthy…!!
