Review of the day

There’s not a lot to say about the performance of todays tip, Mystifiable…

I felt that, at his best, he would have been more than capable of giving the favourite, Benefit Cut, a race – but he came with plenty of question marks and ultimately, they caught him out…

It’s probably true to say that the writing was on the wall as early as the fourth fence, when he took off too soon and ploughed through the obstacle.
He did recover from that, and in fairness, looked the horse most likely to trouble Benefit Cut, as they went down the back straight, second time round.

However, whether it was the distance, the ground or lack of fitness, Mystifiable soon started to struggle – and was well beaten on entering the straight.

I have a feeling he will be completely different proposition next time out….

It was a different story for the only mention of the day, Divine Intavention, as he managed to come home alone in the handicap chase.
However, he was very lucky to do so, as he appeared booked for third place jumping the second last.
However, his 2 rivals left the contest between the final two fences (one unseated, whilst the other broke down), leaving Divine Intavention for a facile victory…

Whilst he will doubtless strip fitter on his next run, he is unlikely to be so lucky.

TVB.
